I brought my novice 9 and 6 year old for a few lessons here this August, hoping to grow their confidence around horses, allowing us to take family trail rides on vacations in the future. I was thrilled to see the especially nervous younger one happily trotting after just one lesson. A beautiful farm to serve as their starting point, with the owners' love of their many happy animals always apparent. I highly recommend Green Heron Farm.

The best place to introduce your child to horseback riding and the care of horses. The owner, Roberta Jackson, has years of experience and is well known in the county for her expertise in the equine field! Great place to board your horse as well!

The animals at Green Heron are well cared for and visible to their owners. Roberta is warm, generous, and happy to tell the stories of the animals on her farm. She took her time, on a very cold day, to teach my two and a half-year-old grandson how to care for the animals. He got to experience finding and collecting eggs, as well as feeding the chickens and horses. It was the kind of experience that life-long memories are based. Thank you! We will be back soon.

I can't imagine a better place to learn to ride. I took my first riding lesson when I was in my 40's. I still take lessons there more than 20 years later and have been boarding my horse there for almost that long. My daughter's rode there and I can't wait for my grandaughter to take her first lesson.

The children had a wonderful time riding horses, one with some experience and one rather reluctant. Very nice people!!!
